The long-awaited Britney/Brittany episode of Glee finally arrived and we were...surprised? It was definitely an off-the-wall episode, but then, so is the subject matter. We were wowed by the dancing and finally discovered what we knew all along -- that underneath that chaste Cheerios top Brittany has been sporting the killer abs we'd literally kill for. Maybe we should take up a life of professional dancing...

He might be Emma's dentist, but he'll always be our Uncle Jesse
John Stamos has finally made an appearance and his character Carl is everything Emma deserves. He's dreamy, funny, confident and knows how to have a good time. Plus, he doles out drugs for safely controlled hallucinogenic trips involving pop stars and music video montages. So what we're saying is, he's basically perfect. Plus, he knows how to let go, something, says Emma, that Schue doesn't.

When Schue invites Dr. Carl to come talk to the kids about dental hygiene, he starts to realize what maybe his life was a little too hygienic. Schue himself doesn't get one of Dr. Carl's gas mask freak-outs, but he does get some interesting life advice: let loose a little. Oh, and stay away from Emma.

Me and my shadow

Kurt suggests that the glee club do a tribute to Britney Spears (and pushes a little too far with Schue, which lands him in Figgins' office), but Schue gives an adamant and resounding no -- she isn't a role model he wants for the glee club. What about Michael Bolton?

Brittany agrees with him, but not for the same reasons. Brittany's full name is Brittany S. Pierce, or Brittany Spears as far as she's concerned, and she's been living in the pop star's shadow her whole life. We don't really see how this applies since no one seems to have known what her last name was until tonight, but then, very little of what comes out of Brittany's mouth makes sense. And we are all very grateful for that.

But you know what's good for low self-esteem, Britt? A trip in the dentist's chair. After a drug-addled dream in which Brittany sees herself perform "I'm a Slave 4 U" and later "Me Against The Music" with Santana along for the ride, Brittany comes to realize that she has a lot of talent -- in fact, more talent than anyone in the club. And she'll be taking all the solos from now on, thankyouverymuch.

Though it seems a bit tangential and a round-about means of getting the star on screen, we're glad Britney was introduced this way. There's only so many times Ryan Murphy can have a celebrity come to Lima, Ohio -- Olivia Newton-John was already a stretch. Plus, we got to see some amazing production value with the recreation of Spears' music videos. But never mind all that. The focal point of these two numbers is -- quite rightly -- Heather Morris. It's great catching snippets of her dancing on the Cheerios, but this was an entirely different view. The dancing was superb, and although the suspended reality was a bit jarring, she was still amazing to watch. Unfortunately Santana seems to be floundering a bit in Brittney's wake. You can roll around in those leaves all you want, but you can't match Britt's moves.

Meanwhile, Rachel and Finn are having self-esteem issues of their own. She feels threatened by his attempt to get back on the football team, while he just misses the game and the guy he was while he was playing it. Rachel similarly takes a trip to Dr. Carl to check out her plaque-covered teeth and gets a shot-for-shot reenactment of "Baby One More Time" under the gas. We're still cracking up from the look of longing she shoots dream Finn from the stands. She might be playing Britney, but that was classic Rachel.

Taking a tip from her hallucinogenic muse, Rachel shows up for school in the cropped school uniform, saying that it's okay to feel sexy and pretty again. Seeing Rachel in this garb sends Jacob Ben Israel over the edge, and he's later caught by Sue watching an interview clip with Rachel in the AV room au naturel. After interviewing poor, nude Jacob, Sue confronts Schue and tells him to steer clear of Britney Spears, or else everything that's good and holy in this world (we're assuming she just means McKinley High) will disappear. Schue gets the message, but Emma's lingering advice has given him another idea. He's giving in, the kids are doing Britney, and he's performing it with them at the pep rally.

Britney + guys = boy band

Artie likewise pays Dr. Carl a visit and has a vision of himself on the football team. He later tells Finn that they were "unstoppable," which we don't quite understand because there was no opposing team. What was unstoppable was Artie's performance. This was probably our favorite number of the episode for the musical performance alone. McHale and the other boys really showed off their pipes in this one, and the best part was we didn't see it coming.

When you add Schue to the mix for the club's Cabaret-style performance of "Toxic," you get the screaming fans. Just as Sue predicted, all hell breaks loose when the kids in the audience get over-sexed by the glee club's number.

First of all, can we just say how hilarious/disturbing Jacob and Lauren Zizes' fevered screams were during this? We couldn't believe how far they were pushing it. However, we're going to have to throw a stick in the gears, here. The school needed a sexy outlet in musical form and it was Britney Spears that did it? Not Madonna? Spears is a pop star, not a sexual provocateur. Frankly, we would have been more turned on by "Express Yourself," but then we have to remember that Madonna was perhaps before these high schoolers' time. Then again, so is Britney.

That said, it was an excellent number. We loved the pared-down version of the pop hit and the costumes were sensual without being overly sexy. We were having trouble suppressing giggles when Kurt was flapping two bowler derbies over Mercedes' boobs, though...

You can't just explode your talent all over the walls

In the end, it's Rachel and Emma who turn down the insanity. Emma tells Schue that she still wants him to be himself, just more relaxed, not turn into some flashy guy. Schue counters that the boring guy he is wasn't good enough for Emma, so he'd rather be someone else. However, where his singing and dancing is concerned, we think this is Schue at his most elemental. Wasn't it the pilot episode when Emma showed Schue a video of his younger self belting one out on stage and told him "that's you the happiest I've ever seen you"? Sure, he shouldn't be dancing around with the kids, but his need to perform and show off that sexy pizazz is exactly who he is.

Rachel finally jumps off the Britney bus that everyone has been riding and issues a melodic apology to Finn for trying to stop him from playing football. Her rendition of "The Only Exception" just the mellowing element needed to de-tox the episode. Plus, we get to see her and Finn enjoying each other for just who they are, a jock and a music geek.

So to answer your first question: No, Rachel that was not real life. That was a "fragmented everyday haze of confusion," as Kurt put it, or basically, a trip into Brittany's mind. It's a nice place to visit, but we sure wouldn't want to live there.

John Stamos says working on 'Glee' is 'a dream'

John Stamos made his debut on Tuesday night's Britney Spears themed Glee episode as a dentist who has stolen the heart of Will Schuester's love, Emma Pillsbury.

Stamos recently told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the recent "Operation Smile" gala, "I'm having the best time," he says. "It's a dream, yesterday I got to sing and dance all day long with the cast and, you know for the fans out there, they're everything you would want them to be."

The actor told OnTheRedCarpet.com back in June that he was prepping for his role by taking a series of classes. "Every day, I’m in singing lessons and dance lessons," he said.

"These blessings rarely drop in your lap and when they do, you just go ‘Wow,’" he added about his guest spot as a dentist on the show. "I’m really excited to dig in there and treat it with respect. I’m such a fan of the show and I just what love the message of the show is and the celebration of diversity on the show. I mean, there is just no apologies for those characters and I’m really proud to be a part of something like that."

Heather Morris: Five Facts About the Rising 'Glee' Star

It's no secret that Heather Morris is one of the breakout stars of 'Glee.'

On a show filled to the brim with talented young stars, Morris remains a bright light thanks to her sharp comedic timing and killer dance moves.

The episode 'Britney/Brittany' is Morris' time to shine and we're so ready for it! Not only will Morris bust out her Britney Spears dance moves, but she'll be showing off her pipes too.

Get to know the rising star before she goes toe-to-toe with Spears.

1. She was rejected from 'So You Think You Can Dance.'

In 2006, Morris auditioned with her friend Ben Susak for season 2 of 'SYTYCD.' However, she failed to make it into the Top 20 by one vote.

2. Her aspirations include becoming part of a board game.

Morris wants to be an answer in Trivial Pursuit. She told TV Guide she hopes her famous one-liner, "Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks?" will pop up in the game. "I really hope that I'm a Trivial Pursuit question," she said. "'What character said this infamous line?'"

3. Those hilarious one-liners aren't always scripted.

Morris told The Advocate that she sometimes ad-libs the lines. "Like in the Madonna episode, when Jesse St. James came to join our club, when I asked, 'Mr. Schu, is that your son?' I asked that in rehearsal as a joke, an improv moment, because they really look so much alike," she said. "Ryan started cracking up, and he was like, 'That's amazing. Keep that."So yeah, that was my idea."

4. She based the character of Brittany on Karen (played by Amanda Seyfried) from 'Mean Girls.'

Why Karen? Well, she wanted to play the character as utterly clueless, not over-the-top dumb. "If you watch a sitcom and see a dumb girl, the actress is usually overplaying her dumbness," Morris told TV Guide. "With Karen, she legitimately doesn't understand. She's like a little kid who says, 'I don't get it.' It's funnier to me to play Brittany as not super stupid, but really innocent."

5. She's a Single Lady.

We know you probably have heard this about 20 times, but Morris toured with Beyoncé and appeared in 'The Beyoncé Experience' DVD.

Heather Morris has finally been given exposure in Glee. Let's hope to get to know the other Glee characters this season 2.

Gwyneth Paltrow gets Glee gig

After days of speculation on the Internet, it has been confirmed Gwyneth Paltrow will star on Glee this season.

"Yes, it's true," the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, told UsMagazine.com.

"She is a fan of the show."

According to Murphy, who is friends with the actress, Paltrow will "be playing a substitute teacher who Matt Morrison's character (Will) falls for".

"She will be doing three or four solos," he said.

Paltrow's husband may also get some Glee glory this season.

Chris Martin's band Coldplay initially turned down the TV show then changed its mind, apologised and gave Glee access to the band's entire catalogue.

BRITNEY ON GLEE: Britney's GLEE episode finally aired last night and it was full of her most iconic and memorable songs. Other hits included Toxic, Baby One More time and Me Against The Music as the GLEE club tries to get Mr. Schuester to let them perform Spears songs. Heather Morris who coincidentally plays the character Britney on GLEE was the star of last night's episode as she showcased some serious dance skills.

PALTROW HEADED TO GLEE: Gwyneth Paltrow will also be making a cameo on GLEE. According to GLEE creator Ryan Murphy, Paltrow will be playing a substitute teacher who Matt Morrison's character will fall for. Murphy says she will also be doing three or four solos, which isn't too far fetched since she will be playing a country singer in her next movie Country Strong not to mention her singing debut in the movie Duets 10 years ago. Her husband, Chris Martin, originally turned down GLEE, but is now letting the show have access to Coldplay's entire catalog.

Ratings: Glee Sets Record, No Ordinary Family Flies High

Britney Spears is bigger than Madonna, at least for Glee.

The Fox musical comedy scored its highest ratings ever Tuesday with a Spears-tribute episode, besting Season 1's Madonna special, according to overnight Nielsen estimates. Glee drew 13.3 million viewers and was up 4 percent from the previous week in the 18-to-49 demographic, leading Fox to win the night.

Glee led into Raising Hope (7.5 million viewers), which was also slightly up, while Running Wilde (4.7 million viewers) tumbled 13 percent in the demo from the previous week.

CBS placed second for the night with on-par performances from NCIS (18.7 million viewers) and NCIS: Los Angeles (16.4 million viewers), the latter of which improved 9 percent in the demo versus a week ago. The second-season debut of The Good Wife (12.9 million viewers) won the 10/9c timeslot, but it was down 19 percent in the demo from last year.

Despite a strong debut for No Ordinary Family (10.5 million viewers), ABC placed third for the night. Following Family, which was ABC's  highest-rated new series premiere, Dancing with the Stars (17.1 million viewers) was down 16 percent in the demo compared to a week ago, while Detroit 1-8-7 (9.2 million viewers) fell 8 percent in the demo.

NBC was down across the board, as a two-hour Biggest Loser (7.1 million viewers) fell 7 percent in the demo from a week ago and Parenthood (4.8 million viewers) declined 20 percent to a new series low.

On the CW, One Tree Hill (1.8 million viewers) held steady and Life Unexpected (1.6 million viewers) rose slightly.

The best part about last night’s episode of Glee was the focus on Heather Morris’s character, Brittany. The most disappointing part about last night’s episode of Glee was everything else.

I’m a big fan of Glee, and also grew up listening to Britney Spears, so when I heard that Glee would be doing a Britney-themed episode, I was pretty stoked. I was also stoked when I heard that Heather Morris, who plays the hilarious Brittany on the show, would be the focus; eventually, hearing every song sung by Lea Michele’s character, Rachel, just gets boring.

The episode has Will Schuster, the teacher in charge of the glee club, wanting to present an adult-contemporary song at this year’s homecoming pep rally. Do high schools really do pep rallies? In all my years, I have never attended, nor heard of, an actual pep rally. Anyways, all the kids want to sing a Britney Spears song; especially Kurt, who has such passion and conviction for the cause that he yells at Mr. Schuster. However, Brittany doesn’t want to sing Britney, because her name is Brittney S. Piers has forever lived in Britney Spears’s shadow, knowing that she will never be as famous nor will she ever be as good of a performer as Ms. Spears.

Enter: a dentist played by John Stamos. There’s a secondary plot line going on about how everyone thinks that Mr. Schuster should stop being so uptight, and how Emma Pillsbury is dating this dentist, despite the fact that Will still has feelings for her, but it all feels so forced that it doesn’t really belong. A few of the kids go to see this dentist, and while under anaesthesia have Britney Spears fantasies. First, Brittany dreams about singing “I’m a Slave 4U.” Heather Morris shows off her dance skills in this musical number, and damn is she a good dancer. The former back-up dancer for Beyonce knows how to move and even proved that she can dance while holding a python.

Next, Brittany goes to the dentist a second time (because she never brushes her teeth; she just gargles with soda after every meal because she thought Dr. Pepper was a real doctor). This time she goes with Santana, who just wants to get high off of the anaesthetic. The two have a fantasy about singing “Me Against the Music,” with Santana as Madonna. At the end of the dream, Britney Spears herself shows up and Brittany tells her how pretty she is.

The next person to go under the gas is Rachel, who signs “Hit Me Baby One More Time...” which didn’t sound very good at all. Lea Michele has a beautiful voice that was built for Broadway, not Britney Spears.

Artie, who wants to join the football team, fantasizes about singing “Stronger,” while being pushed in his wheelchair like a battering ram though the football field. He mostly wants to join the team because he wants to win back Tina, his former girlfriend who left him for the Other Asian.

In the end, Mr. Schuster lets the glee club perform “Toxic” at the pep rally, on the condition that he performs with them. The result is highly inappropriate. Sue Sylvester ends up pulling the fire alarm because she believes that the performance is turning the crowd into sex-crazed group of teenagers (which they are, considering they’re teenagers).

The fact that all of the musical numbers were fantasy sequences (save for “Toxic,” and Rachel’s rendition of Paramore’s “The Only Exception”) made the episode seem like it tried really, really hard to force Britney Spears songs into it. It also felt like there really was no plot, and I’m kind of sad that they didn’t continue the search that had them looking for a twelfth member of the glee club so that they qualify for competition. My friends and I all agreed: this week’s episode of Glee lacked something that all the other episodes had, and was a definite disappointment.

“Glee” Changes Everything In Its Season Premiere

Glee is back and as much as you want to hear about the new season, you probably don’t want spoilers. Luckily, a lot of this has been reported straight from Ryan Murphy and the stars’ mouths. I’ll discuss the parts that have already been out in the press and I’ll be vague about the surprises.

The promise of highlighting supporting characters is fulfilled. The season premiere begins with Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman), so already a supporting character from the first year gets his own scene. Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) rocks some dance moves and has a significant speaking part.

I don’t really like what they did with the opening. It’s a segment that catches the audience up with the characters and actually expresses all the fan feedback. I think it goes overboard and I think it makes some offensive jokes. I mean, make fun of the song choices and performances but you don’t need to call your characters names. These are fictional characters and I think it’s out of line. It gets downright racist 10 minutes later.

The new gym coach (Dot Jones) is the perfect foil to Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). Not perfect because of the threat she represents, but perfect because she’s the anti-Sue. Sue’s got all the perfect sayings and slogans. Coach Beiste (get it? Beast!) says things that don’t deliver any message at all. I hope that continues all season.

Sue and Scheuster (Matthew Morrison) working together is great. It’s better to see enemies forced to be allies, using their differences in concert against a bigger foe.

The story forwards the plot and the themes of Glee. The glee club needs a new recruit so they need to attract other students. Not easy when they’re still the outcasts of the school, so they actually have to overcome social typecasts to build a team of more outcasts.

The Artie (Kevin McHale) subplot is actually daring and outrageous. I like that. Rachel (Lea Michele) comes across really badly. I know what point they’re trying to make with that storyline but I think it just makes her reprehensible. Some characters get their power back and others lose theirs. Either way it’s good drama.
The first song of the new season is hip hop. They put on chains and do fly moves. I don’t know rap so I assume this is cool. It looks and sound good when they do it. Heather Morris still outshines everyone else from the background. There’s a female pop duet that’s fierce. Between an angry Lea Michele and a happy Charice, I’m rooting for the new happy girl. The guys do another current hit and give the new guy an awesome solo. Then there’s a showtune, but it’s a showtune from a rock musical that became a hit movie so it’s really still all current, but all awesome. And another Lea Michele solo, because it’s still Glee.

The Glee season premiere is strong and bodes really well for the season. Even the parts I found misguided pay off really well. Well, not the racism and the mean stuff, they could have done it without that. But the darker parts bring the characters to a powerful place and it shows the season won’t be afraid to shake things up. Glee is back!

Zac Efron wants cameo in ‘Glee’

Actor Zac Efron is eager to land a role in the hit musical television series “Glee”.

The 20-year-old actor showed off his singing and dancing skills in the “High School Musical” franchise but moved on to more serious roles with “Me and Orson Welles” and “Charlie St. Cloud”.

Aceshowbiz.com reports that he has now expressed his desire to do a cameo in “Glee”.

“They haven’t asked me yet… I think it’d be really fun. They’re doing a great job of the show. Yeah, absolutely (I’d love a role),” he said.

What: A musical comedy TV series called "Glee."

The setting: The fictional McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.

Season two premise: Optimistic teacher saves New Directions - a diverse band of multi-talented Lima losers and cool kids who make up the school's Glee Club - from extinction despite the machinations of malicious Cheerios cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester and leads the group to realize their true star potential.

The stars: Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Naya Rivera, Jayma Mays and Jessalyn Gilsig.

Where we left it last May: New Directions had won Sectionals but lost Regionals to their arch rivals Vocal Adrenaline. Quinn's mom, who is divorcing the dad who threw out their pregnant daughter, showed up at Regionals. Former head cheerleader Quinn had her Baby Beth and gave her up for adoption (to Rachel's birth mother and VA coach played by Idina Menzel). Sue - gasp! - convinced Principal Figgins to give the Glee Club another year of funding. (Plus the show earned 19 Emmy nominations with Jane Lynch winning Best Supporting Actress in a comedy, co-creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy winning for Best Direction and the 2010 Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.)

This season: Newcomers challenge current show choir members for spots in New Directions. The school faces more budget cuts, Rachel and Finn disagree on new recruits, and Cheerios cheerleaders Santana (Naya Rivera) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) compete to be campus Queen. Kurt gets a boyfriend. Rachel has to learn to cope with getting what she wanted - going steady with Finn. Finn admits to Quinn that he still has feelings for her, and Rachel hears it. Sue goes head to head with the high school's new football coach named Coach Beiste (pronounced Beastie, seriously). The show will feature 3-5 production numbers per episode this season.

Guest stars: John Stamos as a hip dentist, Mr. Schuester's rival for Emma, the germaphobic guidance counselor.

Britney Spears as herself in the Sept. 28 episode about "not only about her music but about her public image" including a big dance scene with Cheerios member Brittany (Heather Morris).

Broadway's Cheyenne Jackson as coach of rival show choir Vocal Adrenaline.

Possibly Javier Bardem as a "demented Spanish rock star substitute teacher" in the second half of the season, according to "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy.

Broken Arrow native Kristin Chenoweth returning as April in two spring episodes.

Jonathan Groff (who played Rachel's love interest last season) is back for two episodes.

Newcomer Chord Overstreet ("iCarly") as Finn's protégé turned competitor on the football field and in the Glee club.

The Future:"Glee" is getting the prime post-Super Bowl time slot and, after the Super Bowl, the series will switch to 8 p.m. Wednesdays following the "American Idol" results show. Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley will also appear as campers in the season premiere of "The Simpsons" at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 on Fox.

Maybe next time: Sir Paul McCartney sent Murphy two CDs with a note saying "Hi Ryan, hope you'll consider some of these songs for Glee, Paul" the show's co-creator told TV critics. He's thinking about it.

Glee writers take rap for star’s new singing style

MATTHEW Morrison has been serenaded, ridiculed, and cajoled into singing rap – all in the service of Glee.

But after a year on the hit musical TV show, the actor says he has learnt to trust his writers.
Broadway star Morrison, 31, plays Will Schuester, Spanish teacher and leader of the struggling high school choir, in the quirky Fox comedy that has taken pop culture by storm.

The role has brought the singing, dancing actor an Emmy nomination, instant public recognition, and surprises every week in the form of new scripts from series creator Ryan Murphy and writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

“Sometimes I cringe! (on first seeing my script),” Morrison said as the complete first season Glee DVD was released.

“But I’ve learnt to trust the writers. Ryan, Brad and Ian all know what they doing. Sometimes those cringe moments have turned out to be the most amazing things. The first time they asked me to rap on the show I was like, what? But the cover version of (Kanye West’s) Gold Digger turned out to be great number and everyone loved it, so I completely have trust in them,” Morrison said.

Morrison’s wavy hair has also been the butt of numerous sarcastic quips from his Glee nemesis, scheming cheerleader coach Sue Sylvester (played by Emmy winner Jane Lynch).

As a teacher, Morrison usually manages to dodge the sticky slushee assaults carried out on the under-dog Glee club members by more popular high school students.

But he hasn’t been immune. “In the first season, all the kids ganged up and they all slusheed me at once. It doesn’t feel good going down your backside!” he said.

Life has changed dramatically in the past year for Morrison, whose Broadway credits include South Pacific and Hairspray.

The DVD release includes a video diary shot by Morrison in the summer of 2009, just before Glee became one of the most talked-about new shows on US television.

He films himself standing unrecognised on a New York street next to a wall poster of himself promoting Glee.

“I’ve gone from the small bubble of the New York community to this great success of having the world know who you are, and people recognising you everywhere,” he said.

“I am so happy that a musical show has found its way on TV. It hasn’t happened in a couple of decades. I am glad we live in a time where people are open to that,” he added. The DVD also gives fans a look at original audition clips by cast members Lea Michele (Rachel), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Cory Monteith (Finn) and others, along with sing-along karaoke, Glee dance steps and fashion tips.

The show’s second season begins with new students and celebrity guests including Britney Spears, Javier Bardem and British singer Susan Boyle.

My favorite weekend: 'Glee's' Jayma Mays eats up free time

Last year, actress Jayma Mays figured she had scored a nice gig on a quirky little TV show. But what she had signed on to turned out to be the pop-cult phenomenon known as "Glee," which opens its second season Tuesday night on Fox. The flame-haired Mays portrays high school guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury, who in Season 1 had a will-they-or-won't-they dalliance with Spanish teacher-turned-Glee Club maestro Will Schuester ( Matthew Morrison). But we hear tell that a newcomer played by John Stamos is about to make Emma's life even more comically complicated.

"I can't give away too much because I really don't know too much — the writers never tell us, and I like it that way," says Mays, who lives in Los Feliz with actor-husband Adam Campbell. "But John is an amazing actor and a great addition to the cast. It's going to be fun."

A nice night out for us is to stay in this neighborhood that we love so much and just maybe dress up a little bit and walk down to Little Dom's. It's Italian, but not strictly so; I think they've got some other influences there as well. The pasta is always a treat because we try not to eat too much of it at home. I always get the gnocchi and Adam goes between the pappardelle or sometimes the steak. And we have this theory that you can never go wrong with the house wine.

After dinner we'll walk on down to the Vista, the best theater in town. It's got that Old Hollywood feel, and every time we go, the manager is there to greet us and take our tickets. It's such a nice gesture. The theater is so beautiful inside, and they always have a great film selected.

Doing the town

In the morning we'd get up early and go to the Silver Lake farmers market. It's the perfect size; I get overwhelmed when they're too big. After that we'd grab some coffee at the best place in town, the Los Feliz Cafe. We always order the Americano and some croissant.

Then we'd hop on our bicycles and ride straight up the hill to the Griffith Observatory. It's a hard ride, and I have to stop a couple of times, but we feel so good afterward. We'll hang out up there for a while, enjoying the view and maybe catching a show at the beautiful Observatory. Then we'd come down the other side to the entrance to Griffith Park and stop at Trails Cafe — I told you our weekends revolve around food! I always have the egg salad sandwich. It's such a wonderful place, you have to go. I'm from Virginia, and the beautiful wooded area there kind of reminds me of home.

Shopping, hiking

I do love clothes, I'm not going to lie, and my favorite shop is on the other side of Los Feliz on Hollywood Boulevard — it's called Confederacy. First of all, the space is amazing, even if you're just going in to look around. Ilaria Urbinati and Danny Masterson both have a really amazing eye for great pieces and they really have a way of putting things together.

Later, a great hike is up at Solstice Canyon in Malibu. It's kind of dry near the start but by the time you get to the top, it's like this beautiful, lush oasis, and there's the remains of a house that burned down many years ago. The footprint of the house is still there along with the bathtub and stove, so it's a very unique place to spend some time.

A bit of N.Y.

A nice, relaxing place for Sunday might be Forage in the Sunset Junction area. It feels kind of like a New York eatery, and they have these wonderful salads there behind the glass, or maybe you'll have a slice off the fresh whole chicken. It's almost like cafeteria style, but in the best sense. It's a very organic-type place; they only want you to eat the best food. I love the lentil soup and homemade bread.

Glee's' Jane Lynch will work for 'a dollar-fifty and a steak'

"Glee" star Jane Lynch sat down with Larry King on Sept. 16 to talk about the Season 2 premiere of her hit show and her unique career trajectory.

Despite being recognizable for years, it turns out Lynch has only just recently gotten to relax and let the offers roll in.

"Before Glee, yeah, I was still auditioning so it was a great gift to be handed to me," she says. "[Auditioning] is a bi***."

Lynch says she hasn't had to audition lately, but she's never been one to turning much down. "My agent used to say that I'd work for a dollar-fifty and a steak," she laughs. "Maybe not so much anymore."
Lynch also opened up about her personal life, including growing up gay and her recent marriage to clinical psychologist Lara Embry, which Lynch never saw coming. "It's something I never thought I would want to do, gay or straght," she says. "I never had that drive to do it, and when I met her, it was just perfect... it was right."

Heather Morris says the two Cheerios are still canoodling, although Brittany also plays the field: "I've got a couple more relationships here and there...Of course me and Naya Rivera, Santana, we are crazy together and we have a lot of fun stuff, which we haven't shot yet, not only in the Britney [Spears] episode, but in like the next couple episodes. We have more stories together. [And] I create more relationships with other people."

Glee Showmance, Subcategory "Wemma": We know you kids love Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays), but is this already the season when the Spanish teacher gets with the guidance counselor? Mays says, "I wish I could say, 'Yes, we're going to be married by episode three,' but I have no idea. [Besides], you don't want us together right away." (Fine, fine, patience is a virtue.) For his part, Morrison reveals, "It starts out a little rough. The new dentist is in town, John Stamos, J-Sizzle, as I call him. You know, my heart is still there, [but] I'm going through my whole divorce and everything so I'm a mess. Will Schuester is a mess, but his affections are really still there for Emma." Yay!

Glee Showmance, Subcategory Real Life: We got to talking about Kristin Chenoweth with Chris Colfer, and he freaked out, in the sweetest possible way: "Every time she's around, I lose all control of all my senses, like I can't see, I can't hear, I can't speak 'cause I've been in love with the woman since I was 13...I could do a whole scene with her and just forget the entire thing 'cause I'd just be on cloud nine." Adorable, right?

NEW CHARACTERS

Get ready to open your heart to a new singer by the name of Corazon and a new football coach who looks tough but who secretly has a soft gooey center.

Filipino pop star Charice tells us, "My character is Sunshine Corazon, she's an exchange student from the Philippines and she's going to be a frenemy of Rachel Berry. She's going to be a little upset in the first episode, [but] she's a shy type person. She's a nerdy girl, but a little bit fashionable-wise." How paradoxical!

Jane Lynch says of tiny new castmember Charice, "She's littler than Lea, which I think Lea loves because she was, up until then, the smallest person in the cast."

Oh, and Rachel Berry isn't the only person with a new frenemy. Jane Lynch spills: "There's a new football coach, she's female, she's six-foot-four, she is bigger than me and she's louder than me, but she's got a soft spot. She has a real heart beating in her—as opposed to Sue, who has a heart but she doesn't let anybody get at it. So [Sue] goes for the jugular as far as going after Coach Beast.' " Dot Jones plays the new coach, whose character's last name is officially spelled "Beiste."

In case you haven't heard, Glee's doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode later this season, and we found out that Rocky roots actually go deep in the Glee cast. Jayma Mays told us, "I'm looking forward to Rocky Horror. I sang 'Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a Touch Me' for my audition, so I feel like I'm reliving my audition in a weird way, and I just love that show so much, so I'm really looking forward to that."

Chris Colfer reveals, "I take full credit for the Rocky Horror Picture Show because it was my idea from the beginning. I remember in the pilot telling Ryan Murphy how I wanted to do the 'Time Warp.' So if it's a total horrible, horrible thing, you can blame me, but I can't wait to do that and do the 'Time Warp.' It's so my thing. I can't wait."

But wait, there's more: Matthew Morrison is actually a former Rocky castmember! He says, "I'm really looking forward to the Rocky Horror episode just because I actually did that show on Broadway so I can't wait to see what that script holds. We haven't seen the script yet. I'm looking forward to it. I'm a big fan of the show."

As for the movie's infamous getups (such as leather corsets and gold underpants), Cory Monteith promises that they won't be lost in the shuffle: "Somebody's gonna be wearing it. I don't know if it's me or not."

‘Glee’ Season 2: Top 10 Things We Want To See

Glee comes back on the air Tuesday, September 21, and our jazz hands are shaking with anticipation for Season 2. We’ve already been treated to a few morsels of info regarding the sophomore year of the Fox hit—Britney Spears! More Gaga! Probably some Beatles songs!—but there are plenty more song numbers, guest cameos and plot points we’re craving this time around. Jump below for our list of the Top 10 Things We Want To See On Glee Season 2—we hope you’re listening, Ryan Murphy!

10. Neil Patrick Harris must come back.

He won a damn Emmy! If we don’t get another Bryan Ryan episode at least once a season, we’re going to feel jilted.

9. Brad the Pianist gets a song.

First of all, we want to know how he learns how to play so many pop songs from different decades at a moment’s notice with no sheet music. Secondly, let the man sing! He’s in the room all the time, listening to everybody else belt one out, we can imagine he’s just waiting for his chance to join in on the fun. It’s just too bad “Piano Man” was already performed on the show.

8. Add another gay character who isn’t so flamboyant.

We love Kurt, and we think his character has been given a lot of depth as more episodes have aired. (So much so that the role helped Chris Colfer get nominated for an Emmy.) But Kurt still fits in the restrictive mold of what we expect gay men to be, at least on our TVs—sassy divas that are feminine, dainty, and focused on style. We hear that Kurt will be dating the star quarterback this season, which is an indication that he won’t be as obsessed with Madonna or makeovers or learning the “Single Ladies” step by step as Kurt, and we’ll see more of a range of gay characters on the show.

7. Let's see Rachel Berry’s dads already!

We get to meet the mother Rachel never knew, but we don’t get to see the two men who raised her? It’s about time we meet Mr. and Mr. Berry. May we suggest casting Stephen Schwartz and Stephen Sondheim, the granddaddy’s of musical theater, as Rachel’s pair of pops? And if both men are too old, how about casting some more original Rent cast members (like her birth mom Shelby, played by Idina Menzel) and have Taye Diggs and Anthony Rapp be her adoptive parents?

6. Give the other two dudes some screen time already.

Quick, what’s the Asian dude and the black dude’s name in New Directions? You don’t know, do you? That’s because they’ve been there-but-not-really-there throughout Glee’s first season. Let both fellows—Mike Chang (Harry Shum, Jr.) and Matt Rutherford (Dijon Talton) finally have a solo in a song, or god willing, a plot line. Ryan Murphy, don’t wait too long to involve them in stories so that they become the Nikki and Paulo of Glee and get killed off the show.

5. John Stamos better sing some Beach Boys tunes.

Stamos plays Emma’s new dentist boyfriend in Season 2, and in honor of his time spent being the Brian Wilson-adoring Uncle Jesse on Full House, we demand he give us some “Kokomo” or “Barbara Ann.” Or at least cover Jesse & The Rippers’ “Forever” (or the genie rap remix). Have mercy!

4. We need a new “slushie.”

We loved the term “being slushied” being brought into the vernacular, and the image of Lea Michele being coated in purple slime in the pilot still gives us giggles. But we’re bored by the bullies of William McKinley High throwing slushies in the glee club members’ faces to show how much they hate them. They need a new tactic to get their point across. We recommend talking shit about one another on Facebook like every other high school student does.

3. Michael Jackson episode.

There are rumors that an episode featuring the King of Pop’s songbook will happen, with So You Think You Can Dance? judge and choreographer Adam Shankman directing it. We want these rumors to become an officially confirmed reality.

2. A Sue Sylvester flashback.

Don’t tell us you wouldn’t love seeing the nasty Cheerios coach back in the day. Did she always have that haircut and track suit fetish? And how did she get to be so ruthless and vile? Was it passed down to her from her mom? We want to know.

1. A less interrupted plot.

Seriously, Ryan Murphy, cut back on the amount of musical numbers per episode. “The Power Of Madonna” episode had eight—eight!—songs featured, as well as a “Vogue” homage the same length as the original music video! We know that’s the bread-and-butter of the show (and the endless amount of soundtracks flowing out on the Glee assembly line), but believe it or not, we are invested in your characters and this is only an hour-long show. Let their story arcs breathe by cutting a song or two out so you can give the non-singing scenes more screen time.  And that way we won’t have to fast-forward through filler numbers like “The Thong Song” on our DVRs.

Glee's Jane Lynch: Ellen DeGeneres Inspired Me To Come Out

 Glee star Jane Lynch, appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday, tells the talk show host it was her courage to come out of the closet that served as inspiration for she to come out, as well.

The openly gay Emmy-winner described her lost and lonely nights prior to revealing her true self to the world.

"I used to lay in bed and go, 'How will I come out or will I come out?’" Lynch said.

Lynch -- whose career has skyrocketed thanks to her role as cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on Fox's breakout hit, Glee -- then lauded DeGeneres for coming out at the "height of [her] fame" in the late 90s.

"That just blazed a trail for me. It really did," Lynch told Ellen. "It made it so much easier for me what you did."

Lynch said she's had a slightly easier go of the process "because [she's] a character actor... if Julia Roberts were gay, I think it would be harder. She's an ingénue."

DeGeneres then quipped, "So you're saying Julia Roberts is gay?"

Lynch jokingly responded, "That's what I'm saying. Right here on this show... She won't admit it. I'm here to tell you she's gay. You're welcome, Julia!"

Lynch this past May married her girlfriend, celebrated psychologist Dr. Lara Embry.

Dianna Agron wants Holmes for 'Glee'

Dianna Agron has revealed that she would like Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri to guest star on Glee.

Speaking to MTV, the Quinn Fabray actress said that she enjoyed working with Holmes on the set of upcoming movie The Romantics.

"We had so much fun together on and off set," she explained.

She added: "She has said to me that she and Suri watch the musical numbers [on Glee] and they love it. It would be awesome to get them on the show. That would be amazing."

Season two of Glee premieres September 21 on Fox.

'Glee' Charice first-look picture in McKinley High

Charice, full name Charice Pempengco, is a Filipina singer who enters the hallowed halls of McKinley High on the "Glee" second season premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Spoilers: A few plot points are discussed that aren't anything too surprising, but if you want to go in without knowing anything, skip this.

She plays Sunshine Corazon, a foreign exchange student who's dazzled by what she sees as the exciting and glamorous world of show choir. Her unexpected vocal prowess also scares Rachel (Lea Michele) a little bit.

An early promo shows Sunshine and Rachel singing in the girls' bathroom. In the picture above, she's standing in front of her locker. If you notice, there's a (significantly taller) person behind her, whose identity we won't reveal since that could be a major spoiler if you're really up on your "Glee" news.

But as we mentioned before, she takes on a major "Dreamgirls" song and blows it out of the water in the premiere. Really, we can't emphasize enough what an incredible singer she is. Just watch and listen on Sept. 21.

More Filipinos are awaiting the second season of Glee because of the inclusion of Charice. She is the newest Philippine pride. Charice has a very powerful voice.

'Glee' may have a few less musical numbers this season

"Glee" may have a few less musical numbers this season, says show co-creator Ian Brennan, and if fans hear any rumours about which songs are being included, it's best to ignore them.

Kings of Leon recently caused a bit of a stir when lead singer Caleb Followill was quoted as saying the band turned down a chance to have a song appear on "Glee."

That news surprised Brennan, since he said no such offer was made to the rockers.

"The Kings of Leon thing I didn't really understand because we didn't approach them, I don't know where that came from," Brennan said in a conference call Thursday.

"That's sort of the problem with the show now, literally journalists ask everyone now, 'Would you like to be on 'Glee'? And then the rumour mill starts.

"I would say probably 80 per cent of the people who you heard are going to be on 'Glee' is probably news to us."

The much-loved musical show kicks off its second season on Tuesday, on Global at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and Brennan said fans -- known as Gleeks -- should expect a little less music and a little more story.

"This season we're going to err on doing slightly fewer songs," he said.

"I think the most songs we ever did was in the Madonna episode (in the first season), which is sort of its own fantastical thing in and of itself, and I think that probably had nine or 10 songs -- and you just can't do that every episode."

He said the writers are now aiming at a ballpark of five to eight songs per episode, which he called "sort of healthy for the show."

"My hope is a viewer doesn't notice (and say), 'Oh there's a lot of songs this episode,' or 'There's not very much.' It should be organic to the story and that's when our episodes work the best," he said.

There are some high-profile guests and songs lined up for the second season -- "secret weapons," Brennan called them -- but he wouldn't be specific. It's already been announced that the first episode will include a singalong of "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, and the introduction of a new character played by pop star Charice. John Stamos will guest star in the second episode.

Brennan was asked about the rumours that Susan Boyle might be appearing this season but didn't touch the question.

Brennan said he has no worries about running out of story ideas as the show moves forward since he has such a strong cast of characters to work with.

"As we come back there's a lot of Brittany and Santana, and Will and Emma," he hinted.

"Harry Shum Jr.'s character (Mike Chang, a football player interested in the glee club), we're going to have more stuff with him. And even starting in the first episode, right when we come back, we sort of introduce different storylines. The Will and Sue dynamic has sort of been thrown on its head.

"We've got a lot of options ahead of us."

Fall preview: Glee

Whether you love it, hate it, or are indifferent towards it- there’s no denying that “Glee” is a bona fide TV phenomenon.

Ever since Fox aired the pilot back in May 2009, “Glee” has received high critical acclaim, earning two Emmy awards this past August, and accumulating a vast and devoted fan base.

So what is it about “Glee” that launched it to a pop culture obsession after barely ten months of continuous air time? For starters, “Glee” is not your typical TV show about high school kids. Rather than mimic the conventions set by shows like “One Tree Hill” and “The O.C.”, “Glee” creates new precedents for high school dramedies.

In case you are completely immune to the Gleek effect and know nothing about the show, “Glee” is a TV musical. The word “musical” doesn’t exactly pave the way for success on the small screen, but the creators  have made their vision of a musical TV series about a group of teenagers in a newly formed, rag tag high school glee club surpass all expectations.

“Glee” incorporates popular music into the storyline of the show, either as pieces that McKinley High’s Glee Club, “New Directions,” is performing or as an internal monologue for the show’s characters.

Needless to say, the music of “Glee” is very catchy and the cast is packed with a great deal of authentic talent.

The “Glee” cast is composed of former Broadway stars such as Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) and Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) and has also featured a number of very famous guest stars ranging from Broadway divas like Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth to pop superstars such as Olivia Newton John.

The first season left its viewers with a sense of closure for a number of the arcing storylines.

Quinn had her baby, and Shelby, Rachel’s birth mother, adopted the baby girl, as many fans were likely able to predict. New Directions finally made it to regionals with a huge weight hanging over their head; they had to place in either first or second place or they would lose their space at McKinley.

In a surprising plot twist, New Directions did, in fact, place third out of three. However, they gained a shred of compassion from their long-time opponent, the head of the cheerleading squad, Sue Sylvester, who demanded that the principal of McKinley give New Directions a second chance.

This finale has set up “Glee” perfectly for its second season. It has established the fact that New Directions is not American Idol. Most of the characters will probably not reach stardom, but New Directions has never been about winning or losing, but rather, what each member of the Glee Club gains from being a part of it.

This is an important theme of “Glee” that was poignantly captured in the season finale.

So what specifically do fans have to look forward to in the new season? More fantastic guest stars, for one. Britney Spears and John Stamos are among the confirmed guest stars for the upcoming season, and among the stars rumored to appear on the show are Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake.  Camila Melgarejo, a sophomore and a member of SHU’s own University Choir said she’s looking forward to seeing a variety of guest stars on the show.

“I’m excited to see Britney Spears, because she’s such a pop icon,” she said. ”But I’m also hoping the rumors about Paul McCartney are true, because he’s more of a serious music legend.”

The second season of “Glee” will premier on Fox on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8:00 p.m.

Humanitas lauds 'Precious,' 'Glee,' 'Good Wife'

As budgets get slashed and the bottom line becomes more important than a well-written one, the 36th annual Humanitas Prize kudos Thursday at the Montage Hotel recognized writers who write for purpose, not just a paycheck.

Still, part of the prize includes a check, though emcee Charlie Hauck joked, "Those checks have not cleared for years." Documentary winner Jennifer Arnold (for "A Small Act") embodied the Humanitas success story in her acceptance speech: "We started with almost no money, literally in the garage, with two people," she said. "We never imagined we'd end up in a Beverly Hills ballroom."

And in a room full of writers, the speeches better be good. Presenter Damon Lindelof took to the podium with a several-inches-thick binder of paper, joking that if he was going to present in the 90-minute category, his speech was going to be 90 minutes long.

Robert King and Michelle King, who won the 60-minute prize for "The Good Wife," thanked Bill Clinton and Eliot Spitzer for providing the political sex scandals that inspired their show. "Glee" also won in the 60-minute category, and co-creators Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk, thanking themselves "because we're who he would have thanked."

On a more serious note, Geoffrey Fletcher won the feature category for "Precious," and observed: "Precious wants the same things we all want -- to love, to be loved and to contribute." Other winners included Anne Rosellini and Debra Granik in the Sundance category for "Winter's Bone," Christopher Monger and William Merritt Johnson in the 90-minute category for "Temple Grandin," Liz Brixus, Linda Wallem, and Evan Dunsky in the 30-minute category for "Nurse Jackie" and Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd for "Modern Family," also in the 30-minute category.

The awards are given to writers who explore humanity through their work: As presenter David Shore put it, "The (awards) actually call on us not just to make good TV and films, but to make TV and films that do good."

In her address to the ceremony, CBS Entertainment prexy Nina Tassler lauded the org for saluting works that demonstrate "courage and excellence," adding: "Courage beings with the writer putting words on paper."

Rocky Horror's Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf to Guest-Star on Glee

Two cast members from The Rocky Horror Picture Show will guest-star in Glee's Halloween homage to the 1975 cult film.

Barry Bostwick, who played straight-laced hero Brad "Dammit Janet" Majors, and Meat Loaf, who played Eddie, the Ex-"Bless My Soul"-Delivery Boy, will turn up as TV station managers who have an interesting proposal for Coach Sue (Jane Lynch). E! Online first reported the story.

Susan Sarandon, the original Janet, told People.com that she, too, was game to make a cameo.

Then there's the take by Emma (Jayma Mays) on "Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me," the golden Mankini, and, surely, a rip-roaring rendition of "Time Warp" to look forward to. The episode will air Tuesday, Oct. 26.

The second season of Glee premieres Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8/7c on Fox.

Something else to look forward to on Labor Day, oddly enough, is the 2010 Jerry Lewis telethon for Muscular Dystrophy. The 45th annual show, which started at 9 p.m. ET on Sept 5 and continues through 5 p.m. ET on Sept 6, boasts a particularly star-studded line-up this year.

David Archuleta tweeted to fans that his late-Sunday appearance on the Las Vegas telethon will include a debut performance of "Things Are Gonna Get Better."

And he's not the only "American Idol" in attendance. Returning producer Nigel Lythgoe and former contestant Ace Young will both lend their talents as emcees -- nobody expects 84-year-old Lewis can't go for over 21 hours all on his own.

Elsewhere in the TV-verse, the full cast of "Glee" are on deck for the telethon to perform their rendition of "Proud Mary" -- which you might remember as the wheelchair routine from Season 1.

Other stars making time for the charity include Richard Belzer, Enrique Iglesias and Nancy O'Dell. All proceeds from the telethon go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of "Jerry's Kids." Last year's outing brought in $60.5 million.

'I'm a girl who eats': Glee star Lea Michele refuses to follow the super-skinny Hollywood trend

She's starring in one of the most popular shows on TV and is well on her way to becoming a household name.

But Glee star Lea Michele refuses to let the success of the show change her, insisting she will never become a typical Hollywood girl.

The 24-year-old, who plays Rachel Berry, insists she will never starve herself to achieve the super-skinny Hollywood look.

'I love being healthy,' Lea tells Glamour magazine. 'I get a lot of sleep. I'm a girl who eats... I feel beautiful no matter how I look. I have my family to thank for that.'

5'2" Michele claims to eat whatever she wants, and says she never diets. And she insists nothing is more important than just being comfortable in her own skin.

'I'll have a big Italian dinner, and I don't give a crap because it makes me happy,' she says.

The actress also claims to have no real interest in fashion, despite her amazing costumes in Glee.

'I'm not a big fashion girl,' she admits. 'I like to be comfortable.'

Michele also laughed off suggestions that she and Cory Monteith, who plays on-screen love Finn, might have chemistry off the camera.

'I don't have a crush on Cory!' she says. 'Rachel has a massive crush on him. He's like my brother.'

It's clear that at least some of Michele's confidence comes from her very supportive work environment.

She claims the Glee cast never fight and they all have a strong, close bond.

And the singer couldn't be happier with her work and the show.

'They are my family, honestly. I don't have family in LA. If I didn't have them... I love my cast.'

Michele is also very happy with her personal life - she has been dating boyfriend Theo Stockman since last year. She says she loves being with him, even though he is on the other side of the country performing on Broadway.

'I'm a relationship girl,' she says. 'I would rather be long distance with him than not have a relationship at all. He lets me be who I am.'

An on-set insider tells HollywoodLife.com that Brit was kept in her own holding area far away from the Gleeks!

How’s this for a Hollybummer? Even though the Glee cast have been gushing about meeting Britney Spears while she shot an episode of their show, an on-set source tells us that the pop princess barely had any interaction with the Gleeks at all!

“Britney wouldn’t talk to any of the actors and demanded a special trailer with a fence around it,” the insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “Rumor on set was it was because her people didn’t trust her to say something stupid and have it leaked.”

What could the 28-year-old star say that would be so incriminating? Yikes!

Our insider also dished about the songs we’ll hear in the much-anticipated Britney episode — and they include “Toxic,” and just like HollywoodLife.com told you, “I’m A Slave 4 You.”

A rep for the singer did not respond to calls for comment.

Glee actress Dianna Agron has revealed she can't wait for the new season of the show when it returns to TV screens next month.

Agron, who plays cheerleader Quinn in the hit series did not give much away about season 2, but claimed that fans will be able to understand the characters more as the cast and writers are 'getting to play a lot more.'

The 23-year old explained to Entertainment Weekly: "Because we've established the characters and people who have watched kind of know where we've been. I think we were able to expand upon that this season and it's building."

She continued: "There's really touching moments but there's really many moments of high comedy and I think people will have a fun time."

The actress also commented on Quinn's relationship with Puck, played by Mark Sailing claiming that she is unsure whether they will get back together.

Agron added: "Quinn is very happy on her own at the moment. She's a very strong woman and much more so after what happened last year. So we'll see."

'Glee''s Lea Michele Denies Romance With Cory Monteith: He's 'Like My Brother'

She's been nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe, and is one of the hottest young starlets in Hollywood right now, so it's no surprise that Glamour magazine chose to put "Glee" star Lea Michele on their October cover. "Little Miss Big-Time," they call her, and the name could not be more fitting.

Discovering her singing voice was a result of a random audition Lea went on for Les Mis at age eight. "I didn’t know I could sing until I auditioned for Les Misérables," she told Glamour. "My friend was auditioning, and I wanted to audition too. My mother was like, 'You can’t sing.' I’d never tried!"

But her parents' support of her career path has been what's kept Lea focused on her big-time goals. The self-professed non-party girl (she'd prefer to have you over to her place and stay up all night talking) said her family is very proud of her success and "still in shock."

"It’s everything that we kind of dreamed of," she said.

As for the men in her life, Lea makes it very clear that, while her character Rachel has a crush on Cory Monteith's Finn on-screen, there's nothing going on between them off-screen. She said that he is "like my brother," and that the rest of the cast is her family. Fellow "Glee" star Amber Riley was the only person Lea said she expected to butt heads with, considering both of their large personalities, but Lea explained that the exact opposite happened. Now she is Lea's "Mama Amber."

Considering neither Lea's family nor her boyfriend, Broadway star Theo Stockman, are on the West Coast, Lea said she would have been lost without her castmates. But the fact that Theo is in New York while she is in Los Angeles never stopped Lea from wanting to be with him. "I'm a relationship girl. I would rather be long-distance with him than not have a relationship at all," she explained.

Glamour asked Lea what the best fan experience she ever had was, and the response was something we couldn't resist sharing. "A mom came up to me and told me her daughter had been asked by some little girls at school, 'Are your mommies lesbians?' And the little girl was like, 'Yeah'," Lea said. "And the little girl went home and told her mom, who said, 'How did you get the confidence to [say] that?' And the little girl responded, “Mom, I’m like Rachel Berry!' That was really, really cool."

Glee’s Lea Michele Praises 'Professional' Britney - and confirms they’re in a scene together

Glee star Lea Michele has revealed a few details of popstar Britney Spears’ recent visit to the set of the show.

The "Womanizer" star went back to her roots earlier this month when she filmed a cameo for the high school musical comedy.

A whole episode of the second season will be dedicated to Britney and feature her songs.

“She was so professional,” Lea Michele told Access Hollywood. “She looked incredible. She’s so tiny!”

The actress- who plays Rachel on the show- continued: “She was great to work with, It was one of those things where you go to work and you’re like, ‘I can’t believe we’re doing this!’”

And with rumours that Lea and Britney sing Baby One More Time together, she hinted that they could be true.

Michele explained: “We are in a scene together, What we do together, I can’t say, but I will tell you it’s incredibly iconic! I can’t believe (Glee creator) Ryan [Murphy] got her to do this.”

First Look: Glee Kids, Conchords Get Simpsonized

Modern Family may have won the Emmy, but Glee has really made it.

Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Amber Riley have received their four-finger makeovers and will be on hand to help ring in the 22nd season premiere of The Simpsons, in which Lisa visits a performing arts camp and is duly bitten with the musical-theater bug.

And the stars of Glee aren't the only ones bringing the funny that night...

New Zealanders Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords also make cameos on the Sept. 26 episode, obviously to bring "Something Special for All the Ladies."

Glee returns to Fox on Sept. 21. Clement and McKenzie pulled the plug on their own Emmy-nominated HBO show after only two seasons, because apparently they studied at the Ricky Gervais School of Television.

We're still awaiting a Christmas special, though.

Your First Look at Glee’s Second Season, Set to the Tune of ‘Empire State of Mind’

Let's hear it for New York: Vulture can confirm that the first big musical number of Glee's season-two premiere (airing September 21) will be built around the Jay-Z/Alicia Keys duet "Empire State of Mind."

The reason: Our heroes will be spending this season (or at least a semester) trying to get to Nationals, which are being held in the song-appropriate Big Apple. To underscore this upcoming arc, "Empire" is the centerpiece of the new season's first footage-filled on-air promo, debuting right here on Vulture (watch it after the jump).

While the song doesn't serve exactly the same defining role as last year's "Don't Stop Believin'" (which more summed up the mood and theme of the show, while "Empire" is more of a plot illustration), it may be a running touchstone for New Directions' push for New York glory; Fox marketing president Joe Earley hints, "There's a good chance we'll be hearing the song again." (Flash mobs, start working out some new choreography.)

In addition to the NYC reveal, there are some other spoilerish elements revealed in the spot. Among the nuggets:


— Finn admits he still has feelings for Quinn.

— Mrs. Shue's return, in full-on Fatal Attraction mode.

— Mr. Shue's game plan for year two: "We have to go from a small rebel force to a giant wall of sound," he preaches. He also answers critics of Glee who might not have liked season one's song choices: "They say we only sing show tunes and eighties pop. Let's show them how down we are." (Though a teacher's use of the word "down" would seem to indicate: not very.)

— One Sue Sylvester zing. "Not everyone can be a champion. We need fry cooks and bus drivers," she tells Will.

— The return of Hip-Hop Artie!

Vulture debuted the first on-air promo for the second season of Glee, which won its first Emmy's over the weekend.

The new season premieres September 21, and Fox has finally given up this short video preview.

McKinley's High School's New Directions takes on Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" in this video, with Mr. Shue boldly declaring "They say we only sing show tunes and eighties pop. Let's show them how down we are." This year the club sets its eyes on Nationals in New York City, which explains the nod to Jay-Z.

We also get to see the cast singing and dancing in the "New York" t-shirts we showed you a few months ago. And you gotta love Mr. Shue's battle cry: "We have to go from a small rebel force to a giant wall of sound!"

If Modern Family can have a gay kiss, Glee's Kurt should be getting ready to smooch with his TV boyfriend, too.

While Chris Colfer still isn't allowed to reveal who be playing his character's beau, but...

Whoever it is, Colfer will be happy to share an onscreen smooch.

"I'm fine with it," he told me at the Emmys. "I don't know how middle America would feel about it, [but] if it's done in a tasteful way…I want it to be very cute and have people go, 'Aww!'"

The question still remains if new transfer student Sam (played by Chord Overstreet) will eventually become Kurt's beau. "I can't say anything without getting in trouble these days," Colfer said. "We're going to be the power couple of the school. We better be."

Mike O'Malley, who plays Kurt's dad, says he's "looking forward to see how they tackle" the romance. Asked what kind of guy he'd like to see Kurt with, O'Malley smiled, "Whoever makes him happy and treats him with respect."

However, would Kurt and his guy be the first gay kiss on the show? Show co-creator Ryan Murphy has reportedly said Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) will lock lips in the new season.

'Glee' castmates let Charice feel the love

As expected, Filipino singing sensation Charice Pempengco is a hit among her castmates on the hit TV show, “Glee.”

Harry Shum, Jr. (who plays Mike Chang) is all praises for the young singer calling her an "incredible performer."

"She's great. Everyone knows she can sing, sing, sing. And people forget that outside of her being able to sing, she's an incredible performer. She loves to dance. It's a little funny talking to her because we talk about dance and she always shows me her moves," he shared.

Jenna Ushkowitz (who plays Tina Cohen-Chang), on the other hand, marvels "how a big voice can come out of such a little girl."

Amber Riley (who plays Mercedes Jones) described Charice with these words: "She's so sweet. I love her. She has an amazing, amazing voice."

Lea Michele (who plays Rachel Berry) says, “She is the teeniest, most wee person I've ever seen in my life. And she's so darling, she's so sweet. Just hearing her hum and sing backstage, she has a gorgeous voice."

On the show, Pempengco plays the role of an exchange student from the Philippines, who will also be a rival of sorts to the character Michele plays.

However, Michele suggested that reports may have overstated the rivalry between hers and Charice's characters.

"I would give [creator] Ryan Murphy a little bit more credit than that," she said. "She is going to be a rival in a sense, but... knowing Ryan he'll probably make us become best friends or something.”

"I'm interested to see where he goes because I don't think it's going to be what you think it's going to be. That's my prediction. But we might be in a catfight, I don't know."

Other changes being worked for the hit show is the addition of a a rival for Finn in football playing singer Sam and the potential loss of a few familiar faces.

Also joining the show in season two is Dot Jones as Coach Beiste the new football impresario who also serves as a legitimate enemy for Sue Sylvester.

TV icon Carol Burnett will also make an appearance on the show as Sue Sylvester’s mother.

Meanwhile, new magazine “20 Under 20″ included Pempengco among the 20 most popular and most influential teen celebrities in the world under age 20 alongside Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Lautner.

It also boldly predicted for Charice, “a high-ranking spot in an upcoming issue of 20 Under 20!”

Fox leveraging “Glee” for jewelry line

With the hit series “Glee” about to launch its second season of Fox, Twentieth Century Fox announced a deal with Claire’s stores to debut an exclusive Glee jewelry and accessories line with the specialty retailer.

The program will kick-off September 3rd with the introduction of three fully-branded Glee pop-up shops in the Los Angeles, Chicago and New York Metropolitan areas. These pop-up shops will be followed by a rollout of the line to over 1,500 stores across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico on September 9th. Claire's will support the program with an extensive multi-platform marketing campaign that will include a corporate rebranding and special online and in-store promotions.

In a bold move to support the campaign Claire's will rebrand its logo, transforming its traditional 'L' into the iconic index finger and thumb pose featured within the Glee logo. This new promotional logo will be visible at all Claire's retail locations throughout North America and also at claires.com

"The new Glee season is easily one of the most anticipated entertainment events of the year and this partnership will extend the phenomenon even further for fans," said Robert Marick, EVP of Fox Consumer Products. "Claire's has developed an innovative program that will transform the retailer into a primary destination for any 'Gleek' out there."

The largest shop, based in the Glendale Galleria outside of Los Angeles, will host a special premiere party for the Glee Season 2 debut on September 21st. The Glee pop-up shops will be opened to the public from September 3rd - 26th.

General Growth Properties (GGP), one of the largest mall operators in the US, has also partnered with Claire's to promote their Glee program in over 200 malls across the country. The program will include a promotional sweepstakes running from September 9th-17th offering one lucky winner a VIP trip to Los Angeles to attend the Glee season 2 premiere screening at the Glendale Galleria.
